Membership Application Procedure

The Royal Newfoundland Yacht Club is a private boating club that is open for Boating, Social and Corporate membership. The club offers members a variety of services and benefits that are detailed on this page. Membership fees depend upon the type of membership and for Boating Members, the size of boat and the services they avail of.

Specific inquires should be referred to the Club Manager or a member of the Executive for further clarification.

Membership in RNYC is by application and must include the signatures of two full members in good standing. If you do not know any Club members we invite you to contact the General Manager so we can arrange for an introductory meeting with our Membership Committee representative.

After an advertised period of at least 5 days, the Executive reviews the application at its next meeting. If there are no objections, the application is accepted when all fees are paid.

Assignment of Wharf Space

It must be noted that while Boating Memberships may be available, assignment of wharf space will be dependant on the size of boat and current availability. While every effort is made to accommodate boating members through temporary berth assignments when a permanent berth is not available, it may be necessary to place applications on a waiting list until space is available. If this is a concern, please talk to the Manager who can provide you with up to date wharf space.

WHARF FEES

Each wharf space in the Club has a number and has an individual cost associated with it, which is based on the following criteria:

Length of main dock utilized by the berth, either as an end-on space or side on berths along the main dock. In the case of the end of the main dock or tee an equivalent length will be assigned to this berth as if they were end-on space.

Optional Cat Walk assessed an additional charge based on feet of end-on main dock occupied.

Finger piers from the main dock will be assessed an additional charge based on feet of side-on space utilized.

Power charges on wharves, where available, are at a flat rate per berth, based upon the size of service. There are non-twist lock type plugs available for temporary use at no charge for those boats not having shore power connections.

Should it be necessary for the Club to relocate a member from his assigned dock for maintenance or any other valid reason, the Club will endeavour to make another suitable location available. The normal fee for that dock will be charged, provided the cost to the member does not exceed the rate paid for the permanent dock.

Wharf Space Fees vary between $11/ft and $35/ft depending on type of wharf assigned.

SUMMER ELECTRIC CHARGES

Charges are for use of Wharf electrical receptacles regardless of amount of power consumed.

Charges vary from a minimum Charge where no hookup or 15 amp service of $97.00 to $565 for 50 amp service.

Temporary Dock – Members $10.00/night

Visitors $.75/ft. with $25 min./night
